‘Helmand Hajari and Najari State Owned Enterprise’ is a marble mining, processing and distribution company in Afghanistan. The company was founded in 1341 (corresponding to 1962, during King Mohammad Zahir Shah's government) based in Lashkargah city, Helmand province. A consortium of diversified businesses activities constitute by four key business components Mining, Processing Trading and Logistics. The Helmand Onyx factory was a project for one of the several components of a grand development strategy for the Helmand valley. The Afghan government at the time decided to build the factory after a comprehensive geological survey of southern Afghanistan revealed large marble deposits in Helmand. The potential of Disho district dimension stone mine merited the relatively giant project.

The Disho Dimension Stone deposit promised huge rewards hence the government at the time saw a major economic opportunity and commissioned the building of the factory. The factory at the time was a unique project in south Asia for its size, quality and capacity.
